For the fifth year, Houstonia magazine has named Forshey Prostok bankruptcy attorney Deirdre Carey Brown a Houstonia Top Lawyer. To earn a spot on the annual list, Houstonia surveys Houston’s attorneys, who then cast their votes for lawyers who should receive the recognition.

Ms. Brown joined Forshey Prostok earlier this year to open the firm’s Houston office. Since expanding its footprint, the firm has garnered attention in both statewide and national media.

“Deirdre is an excellent attorney who deserves every recognition she gets,” said founding partner Jeff Prostok. “She’s been instrumental in developing our presence in Houston and has been a great asset to clients at a time when bankruptcies are widespread.”

Prior to her recognition on Houstonia’s 2020 list of top lawyers, Ms. Brown was named to the 2020 Texas Super Lawyers as a top-rated bankruptcy attorney. Additionally, she was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America© based on her representation of clients in bankruptcy, creditor/debtor rights, insolvency, and reorganization matters.

Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Ms. Brown has over 20 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience. Her work includes representing Chapter 11 debtors, official committees, creditors, and equity, in a variety of industries, with particular focus in the construction and energy markets.
