Four Forshey Prostok partners have been selected to the 2020 Texas Super Lawyers list, which recognizes the top attorneys in their fields based on a patented model of peer review and independent research.

Founding partners J. Robert Forshey and Jeff Prostok were both named to the 2020 list for their work in bankruptcy, as well as for creditor debtor rights and business litigation, respectively. This year marks the 17th consecutive appearance on the Super Lawyers list for Mr. Prostok and the 18th for Mr. Forshey.

Deirdre Carey Brown, pllc, a recent addition to the firm and leader of the Houston office, was selected for her work in bankruptcy, business litigation and business/corporate. Steven E. Aldous, in the firm’s Dallas office, was selected for business litigation and personal injury – general. They are both celebrating multiple consecutive appearances on the list.

Earlier this year, this same group of four attorneys was recognized by the The Best Lawyers in America©.

“I’m proud of our team and their ongoing commitment to providing exceptional service to our clients who are looking for effective solutions for their businesses,” said Mr. Prostok. “With the quality of cases we file, it’s no wonder the business community has taken notice.”

Recently, many companies have turned to Forshey Prostok to assist with bankruptcies following the pandemic. A recent study by Texas Lawbook revealed:

No law firm has filed more business bankruptcies (14) in the Northern District of Texas than Forshey Prostok. The boutique is involved in 31 business bankruptcies – eight of them as lead debtor’s counsel. The firm represents creditors in the bankruptcies of Breitburn Energy, Denbury Resources, Jones Energy and Pier 1.

Just as Forshey Prostok does a disproportionately large volume of business in bankruptcy matters, Super Lawyers is on the opposite end of the spectrum: a relatively small number – only 5 percent of attorneys in each state – are selected for recognition.

Forshey Prostok LLP provides extensive experience in all areas of bankruptcy law from its offices in Fort Worth, Dallas, and Houston. The firm’s scope of representation includes handling complex business reorganizations, enforcing of creditor’s rights, leading commercial and bankruptcy-related litigation, overseeing creditors’ committees, directing workouts, and closing bankruptcy acquisitions. Forshey Prostok is ranked by the Chambers USA legal guide and received a Regional Tier 1 ranking from Best Law Firms for bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights.
